Barrett joined the ifPeople team because of his interest in finding creative and socially beneficial applications for emergent technology. After graduating from Southwestern University at Georgetown, TX, with a degree in Media Studies and Spanish, he worked for a video production studio in Houston, TX. There, he wrote, produced, and directed commercials for local businesses. He also managed social media outreach and blogging for the studio's original online programming. In 2007, he moved to Atlanta to complete a portfolio in copywriting at the Creative Circus. Working in advertising, he developed a keen interest in using a combination of sharp strategy, wild creativity, and cost-effective technology to promote the unique services of nonprofits and social enterprises. This lead him to pursue a career at ifPeople. The rest, as they say, is history.
