A common issue that keeps materializing is the concept of social media ROI - how to measure it, how to articulate its value, and (perhaps most notably) how to prove it even exists. 2009 NTEN Follow UpIn late April, ifPeople attended the 2009 NTEN Nonprofit Technology Conference in San Francisco. The two-day conference was attended by 1,450 representatives from various organizations and businesses around the world. The event focused broadly on ways nonprofits can use technology to elicit social change, but this year most presentations concerned exciting developments in open source software and social media, along with the fundamental best practices. The Center for Community Change, was featured twice already this year for their role in influencing the new administration, including their efforts is to bring grassroots organizers to the capital every week of the first 100 days! Another client, Climate Interactive, has been talked about a lot lately in Congress. NPR interviewed Bob Corell, who uses the CI model to explain what the impact of current national commitments to emissions reductions would be, if successful (prepare to be surprised).
