ifPeople's FairSource Partners Speak in many areas at Regional Free Software Conference in Argentina
ifPeople Fair Source Partners Menttes and Except will be presenting at Jornadas Regionales de Software Libre in Argentina this month.
The annual conference, now in its eighth year, is a non-profit initiative to promote both the usage and the development of free and open source software. Our partners have continuously played an integral role in this event and other efforts to increase awareness and access to free and open source software in Latin America. This year's presentations illustrate the depth of knowledge and breadth skills our distributed team has to offer the wider community.
Emanuel Sartor of Menttes will present an introduction to Plone for developers, including a rational for using Plone for content-centric web applications and examples of Plone in use. The Except team will also have a strong presence at the conference. Horacio Francisco Sebastián Durán Barrionuevo will give two talks - one on the quality and simplicity of GetPaid as a complete e-commerce solution, and the other on the utility of ArchGenXML tool to create custom Plone products. John Lenton will introduce Agilito - an agile open source project management tool developed using Scrum methodology as a FairSouce project. Anthony Lenton will discuss integrating Google Maps using Python, and Javier Mansilla will talk about developing Plone Batch during the Google Summer of Code, a product which will likely be in the core of Plone 4. Other presentations include one on open source game development by Daniel Moissert, and PyGTK as a Python wrapper for the GTK+ library by Natalia Beatriz Bidart, both of Except.
