System Dynamics Society Latin American chapter annual conference. November 18-20, 2004. Universidad de Talca, Chile. ifPeople's Chris Johnson will present a recent paper on managing processes in values-driven networks and give a workshop on sustainability.

The Latin American Chapter of the Systems Dynamics Society will hold its annual conference in Chile November 18-20, 2004.  The conference will bring together researchers and practitioners from the region and strengthen the development and use of systems dynamics in Latin America.

As part of the peer-reviewed articles submitted for the conference, Chris Johnson of ifPeople had a paper accepted for publication.  The paper (in Spanish) presents a framework for understanding the dynamic nature of networks, and then analyzes the implications within networks of values-driven organizations.  The paper provides a case study of the Red Puentes network, which is promoting Corporate Social Responsibility in Latin America.

Sustainability is an issue that is best analyzed through a lens of systems thinking; however, sustainability is not specifically featured as part of the conference.  The conference organizers have arranged for Chris to also give a workshop of sustainability and how to incorporate it into an organization.

For more organization on the event, please see the Web site dinamicasistemas.utalca.cl ; or to be in contact with Chris about his presentations, please contact cjj (a) ifPeople.net.
