This conference, scheduled for September 9, 2005 in Atlanta, GA will bring some great leaders to town (Paul Hawken and Amory Lovins) as well as our local heroes in sustainable enterprise (including Ray Anderson). The Governor will be opening the conference, which has tracks covering air, water, land, quality growth, and sustainable business.

Georgia’s Common Ground is a Georgia Conservancy conference, which will look at efforts to protect our natural world on the local level as well as highlight national, state, and local governments’ efforts to work with leaders throughout Georgia in defining a vision and taking direct action.

This daylong conference will feature over 50 panelists from around the nation, including keynote speakers, Paul Hawken and Amory Lovins and experts from Illinois, Maryland, Oregon, South Carolina, Virginia, and Washington DC. Conference tracks include: AIR, WATER, LAND, QUALITY GROWTH, and SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS. Conference sessions within these tracks are designed to educate Georgians about cutting-edge environmental issues, cultivate new partnerships between non-traditional allies, and activate attendees to become involved with initiatives that will protect Georgia’s natural resources and help ensure a high quality of life for future generations of Georgians (see full agenda here).

Inspiring Futures, a business-member organization promoting local economy and responsible enteprise in the Atlanta region, will also be present at the conference.
