Bioneers Southeast Forum in Atlanta

The Bioneers S.E. FORUM is a region-wide town hall meeting and progressive summit of innovative and socially responsible programs, art, media and ideas along with a showcase of sustainable products, services and planned developments. Using World Café and appreciative inquiry formats, this progressive summit brings together progressive voices from across a wide spectrum of industries, disciplines, interests and backgrounds.

    Atlanta, GA -- The Bioneers S.E. FORUM in Atlanta, Georgia October 28-30, 2005 will take place at the state-of-the-art high-tech Atlanta campus of the Savannah College of Art & Design at 1600 Peachtree St. NW. 30309. Congressman and civil rights legend John Lewis is the invited keynote speaker.  Other speakers include David Oakey, CEO of David Oakey Designs, Inc. and Sandra Robertson, Executive Director of the Georgia Coalition on Hunger.  The Bioneers S.E. FORUM is a region-wide town hall meeting and progressive summit of innovative and socially responsible programs, art, media and ideas along with a showcase of sustainable products, services and planned developments.  Using World Café and appreciative inquiry formats, this progressive summit brings together progressive voices from across a wide spectrum of industries, disciplines, interests and backgrounds.

    The S.E. FORUM will feature twenty national and regional speaker presentations and over thirty-five workshop sessions, many including students, scientists, entrepreneurs and artists as panelists or moderators. As a Beaming Bioneers site, the Bioneers S.E. FORUM will have access to recorded highlights from the 16th annual national Bioneers Conference, taking place two weeks earlier in San Rafael, California. On Friday evening, October 28, The S.E. FORUM will include the Atlanta premieres of two award-winning documentaries: Lift Every Voice: Sweet Honey in the Rock and The Real Dirt on Farmer John. All group discussions during the S.E. FORUM will be moderated to encourage the community to build a region-wide plan for improving communication and cooperation among progressive groups and organizations.

2005 Bioneers S.E. FORUM Goals:

  • Form new alliances and partnerships among companies, organizations and institutions by building consensus on strategic, actionable outcomes over the coming year.

  • Inspire current and future leaders in various fields and industries to make important decisions based on their long term impacts on the natural environment and neighborhood communities.

  • Incorporate arts, culture, media and youth initiatives into every aspect of the S.E. FORUM

Registration Fees:

Full Weekend: $75 if registered before October 7, 2005, or $95 after October 7

Per Day: $35 if registered before October 7, or $45 after October 7

$20 per day for students, seniors, working artists and activists

Other should inquire about opportunities to volunteer or apply for free scholarships.

Meals:

Organic continental breakfast and healthy snacks will be available each day at no charge. Boxed organic lunches will be available for sale and can be reserved in advance. Every effort will be made to feature food grown on local farms.
