BALLE Atlanta launches membership program
BALLE Atlanta has recently opened its membership program and is inviting you to become a member and gain access to benefits and programs for socially and environmentally responsible locally-owned businesses. ifPeople, a charter member of the network, shares more about the network and its goals and invites you to share in the principles of a living economy while announcing its participation in the upcoming BALLE Annual conference to take place in Vermont.
BALLE Atlanta is a local affiliate of the major encompassing
international Business Alliance for Local Living Economies (BALLE) network.
The business network is the first of its kind in the Atlanta area,
bringing together people who share values to strengthen their
enterprises and new business relations. ifPeople
has been among the founding members of the network,
created in 2005, and has had an active participation in the network
activities. "We very glad to have found local partners that helped us
to bring the living economy principles to the Atlanta area," says
Christopher Johnson, CEO of ifPeople.
Around the southeast, other networks are beginning to form as well, including Asheville, NC and Florida. The ever
growing BALLE international network - whose site was created by ifPeople using
Open Source technologies- now connects over 25 independently operated local
business networks in the US and Canada which share the common goal of promoting
an innovative approach to economic development emphasizing local buying,
responsible business, and sustainable building and food systems. The BALLE network reaches over 5,000 such businesses.
Membership of BALLE Atlanta is open to local business owners, non-profit leaders, government representatives and engaged citizens concerned over the development of local business and strong communities where long-term economic prosperity is attained respecting the environment and sustaining healthy community life (read more about the principles guiding the network at http://inspiringfutures.org/balle/principles). If you sign up today and become a BALLE member, you will not only have your products, services, and company story featured in the BALLE Atlanta online Marketplace, gain access to Local First campaigns and promotional resources and enjoy free networking and social events but also be granted a 50% discount in membership fees and a unique opportunity to win a free registration to the upcoming BALLE conference.
